James Gist Traded to Greece's Panathinaikos

It's rare for European teams to trade players mid-season, and even rarer that the two teams involved would be at the top echelons of the Euroleague. But last week, James Gist (2004-08) was traded from one Euroleague team to another, leaving Spain's Unicaja for perennial Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos. The two teams, incidentally, are in the same Euroleague Top 16 group.
Forward James Gist, a regular on Turkish Airlines Euroleague highlights, has joined Panathinaikos Athens in an exchange of players whose teams will face each other in the upcoming Top 16. Gist (2.06 meters, 26 years old) arrives to Panathinaikos from Unicaja Malaga, while forward Andy Panko heads in the opposite direction to Spain. Gist averaged 8.6 points and 4.8 rebounds in 10 regular season games in helping Unicaja finish second in its regular season group. Panathinaikos becomes his fourth Euroleague team since he debuted in the competition in 2010. [...]

This season, Gist had mostly come off the bench for Unicaja, but continued to thrill crowds with his dunks and blocks, being chosen for the weekly top plays on several occasions.

And here's a highlight reel of some of those many exciting dunks and blocks from Gist's pro career:
