Terrence Morris Advances in Euroleague Tournament

Good news for all of you who had Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv in your Euroleague brackets: Terence Morris's (1997-2001) team has moved on to the quarterfinal round.

Maccabi Elite qualified to move on last week, beating Real Madrid. Morris was the star of the game with this fantastic box score line: 23 points (including 4-for-5 on 3-pointers), 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks.

Terence appears in this video of the Top 10 Plays from week 5. He's the #4 play, at 1:40 in. And even though they're not Maryland players, be sure to watch the #3 and #1 plays in the video too... unbelievable shots:

Maccabi Elite secured first place in Group F with a big win against Zalgiris in week 6. Terence had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 blocks. He's at #9 in this video of week 6 Top 10 plays (starting at 0:15):

(Updated 3/31: Maccabi Elite will play AXA FC Barcelona in a best-of-three quarterfinal series beginning April 1.)

In Group D, Sarunas Jasikevicius's (1994-98) run in the tournament is over, as his team, Panathinaikos, lost their final game to Partizen Igokea, despite 20 points from Sarunas. They had won in week 5, edging group winner Montepaschi Siena (Sarunas: 12 points, 5 assists). Panathinaikos, who was the defending champion of this tournament, finished in 3rd place (2-4) in their group.

On a bright note for Sarunas, he was named as one of Europe's Top 50 Contributers in the past 50 years, as part of the 50th anniversary of European Club basketball. Here is the write-up about him.
